Back on the horse…

I failed my first attempt at the CCIE written exam this thursday… It really sucks.

I was very close to passing it, but unfortunally it didnt happen. I need alot more practice questions to get a “feel” of whats being asked. Also, protocol mechanics need to be practiced some more.

I still think I know all the stuff. I just need to “get it all together” if you know what i mean. Its like the information is scattered around my mind. Also, normally I dont choke up when in exam situations, but for some reason I felt like it here quite a few times.

Anyways, spoke with Joe over at IPexpert, and he really cheered me up, telling me to go at it again. Also Jared gave me a positive email. Turgon at techexams also pitched in to make me feel somewhat better.. Thanks alot guys, means alot!

So right now, im planning an attack at it all, where I need to focus, and what I need to read again, and understand in a different light.

One of the things that hasnt helped either, is my lack of job-experience with many of the technologies. This really shines through on the CCIE level stuff. It is such a massive information fosset that the best way to learn it all in depth, is by applying it over and over again. This is very hard to do in lab environments, but something I must try anyways as I dont work in a network-company (yet).

So, for this to be a true “blog experience”, this is full disclosure 🙂

I will post a revised study-plan within the next few days. Im off work for 3 weeks, so I have time to ratify it and get started with it.

Until then… Take care!
