Update on CCIE Security V6

Its been almost a year since my last post. Wow, do I feel bad about that! :(

Anyways, ive been studying on and off for the last year and I was scheduled to have my first lab attempt this coming thursday. However, with the rising numbers of Corona, I made the tough decision to postpone it until March 10th 2022.

It would have been nice to try out the exam even though I know im not ready for it. Just to judge where I need to focus my efforts.

However, it was not to be, so I just got to focus on areas where I know I need to learn more. Amongst them are: ISE, Stealthwatch, ESA & WSA.

I have a feeling that the integration part will be a big part of the exam, so I need to be on top of that as well.

I’ve got a bunch of books, whitepapers and presentations lined up I will be going through the next month or so and then Im back to labbing again.

The lack of full-scale labs is really bothersome to be honest. I dont know why vendors have forsaken this area, especially with all the security related events going on in the world.

There have been rumors floating around that Cisco are developing some course material, but as of the time of this writing, nothing has materialized yet.

The “old-school” training vendors which we all used to use, dont have a decent Version 6 offering at all.

So, here we are with money to burn and nobody to take them off our hands :)

Anyways, I hope you will all have a great xmas and enjoy your holidays.
