I read on Slashdot today, that a “Jack Thompson“, walked out of court, apparently because he was being disbarred for 10 years. I couldnt quite remember who he was, but then it dawned upon me, he’s the smock thats been trying to ban what he thinks are violent games, because he’s of the opinion they are bad for society.

I was checking piratgruppen.org (A place in favor of sharing things online) the other day, and found that a new site, rettighedsportalen.dk had been started by a former spokesperson of piratgruppen.org.

The site aims to shed some light on immaterial “rights”. This is a good idea and I for one welcome it.

This is cool, a p2p program based on real life trust.

Alliance is a program that everyone has seen before, but with a twist. Instead of searching everybody and their uncle’s stash of bits, you only search a much smaller circle of people whom you already trust. This makes it virtually impossible for the RIAA/MPAA/ to catch you in the act (if you were doing something illegal with the technology in the first place).

But it is still the number of peers The Piratebay had sometime during the past week.A peer is defined in the bittorrent world as one who connects to download/upload some part of a file.

The number 12.000.000 is also about twice the amount of people living in Denmark at the moment. Just think about what that means for a second. It means that a website to share information has twice as many people using it as a small country has inhabitants.

But it was a close one:

Filesharing, as I define it, is a way for people to share files with one and another.

Filesharing programs, are programs that enable people to do so.

The programming instructions which perform the transfer of bits from one computer to another is a technology.

Earth Hour – An hour where alot of citizens around the world turned of their lights to save electricity, and thereby showing their concern for the environment.

A link on Digg pointed towards a YouTube video explaining Net neutrality. This is an important subject, not just in the US, but everywhere. The Telco’s might own the pipes, but they shouldnt get to decide what gets to flow through them.

Watched a short video clip on Digg today, about a guy who knew he only had a few months to live, and yet he choose to make the most of it. This should really be a lesson to alot of us, to enjoy life!!

How will peace ever be established between the large parts of the muslim world and the west, when young kids are being taught to kill for depicting a god in a way you dont like?

Well, thats exactly what a children show stipulated a few days ago, regarding the now infamous Muhammed drawings.

Dont know if you heard, but at this very moment Denmark is experiencing alot of riots in the streets of major cities.

Once again, pictures of the prophet Muhammed, are being displayed on major newspapers. This time not as a simple journalistic interest, but because members of the Islamic community has put forth deaththreats on the person is behind them. Police have judged the threats as to be very real. As a support, and to get this public knowledge, major Danish newspapers have all re-printed the pictures. Hence the riots.
